Massive Recall of 91,000 Woodure Toddler Kitchen Step Stools: What Parents Need to Know
Children’s safety at home is a constant concern for parents. On July 30, 2026, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a major recall of approximately 91,000 Woodure-branded toddler kitchen step stools and learning towers. Sold primarily on Amazon, these products — designed to help young children participate in kitchen activities — pose serious risks of tipping over, collapsing, and entrapment. Following multiple incident reports, authorities and the manufacturer have acted to remove the items from the market and offer a corrective solution.
The recall covers Woodure toddler kitchen step stools, models WD1764, WD1357, and WD1720. These plywood tower stools measure approximately 18 inches deep by 16.9 inches wide by 34.6 inches tall. The model number is engraved on the underside of the bottom step. The products were sold on Amazon.com from July 2024 through June 2026 for between $60 and $100.
According to official CPSC data, the importer (Shenzhen Muqiqu Creative Development) received 22 reports of instability or tip-overs, including 15 reported injuries such as scrapes, cuts, and bruises. Two main hazards have been identified:
- The stools can collapse or tip over while in use, causing the child to fall.
- Openings on the front and back of certain towers are large enough for a child’s torso to fit through, creating a serious risk of entrapment and falls.
Authorities strongly recommend that parents stop using these products immediately and store them out of children’s reach. The manufacturer is providing a free repair kit that includes protective nets and stabilizing feet, along with installation instructions. The kit will be mailed directly to consumers.
